Our Tourism Video Campaign Won 2 Telly Awards and
Put Coastal Mississippi on the Map
Coastal Mississippi needed a video that would travel beyond screens — one physical enough to land in mailboxes and compelling enough to drive corporate getaways, concerts, and major events to the Gulf Coast. This was Fun Fits!.
A.J. Williams Media was given the opportunity to create a destination highlight video for Coastal Mississippi — the three southernmost counties of the state, packed with destinations, beautiful scenery, and an under-the-radar reputation that was about to change. The final product would be delivered as part of a physical mailer campaign targeting corporations and event planners, making this one of the most high-stakes productions we've tackled.
Production spanned roughly 14 days of filming spread across 5 weeks.
That extended timeline let us capture the right light, the right weather, and the right moments
at each location across Harrison, Jackson, and George counties. Our cast was incredible and highly professional throughout,
working alongside non-actor local partners whose genuine connection to the area made the video truly stand out.
The finished video became the centerpiece of a physical mailer campaign targeting corporations and event planners across the region — driving demand for corporate getaways, concerts, and large-scale events on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The printed mailers featuring the video were distributed to high-value prospects, making every frame count.
This project earned 2 Telly Awards at the 2022 Telly Awards ceremony (May 24, 2022), winning in both Non-Broadcast Direct Marketing and Non-Broadcast Travel & Tourism categories — recognizing excellence in two distinct disciplines with a single piece of content.
The video book for this project is exceptionally strong across the board: strategic planning, multi-week production coordination, actor casting and management, business partnerships, and a final cut that performed as both an emotional showcase and a direct marketing tool. That dual-purpose success is what separates good productions from award-winning ones.
Fun Fits! succeeded because it was designed from the start to do two things simultaneously: make viewers fall in love with Coastal Mississippi, and give event planners a concrete reason to book their next corporate trip on the Gulf Coast. The extended 14-day shoot across three counties meant we captured the full breadth of what makes this region special — not just the beachfront, but the culture, the venues, the food, and the people who make it all work.
Two Telly Awards validated what we knew from day one: when you treat a tourism campaign like a feature production instead of a brochure video, the results speak for themselves.
